Far Out Recordings continue to embrace the obscure and educate the adoring fans of traditional Brazilian music.

Little is known about Gui Tavares and Edu Passeto other than what is on the world wide web archives. We do know for certain that this album was originally released in 1981.  A beautifully crafted vestige that took a little over one year to complete as the lyrics went back and forth to the Federal Censorship Authorities for approval. It was not uncommon during times of hardship and dictatorship for Brazilian artists to travel long distances whilst undertaking an arduous journey just to play their music.

The album is largely filled with ballads and duets, although it does have some slight variations in rhythm. I would say this is more for the connoisseur or lover classical Brazilian folk music who would appreciate the sedate flow of euphoric lyrics.

There are a few, catchy up-beat tunes such as Profome with the accompanying jazz flutes.

The re-mastering quality is first class and the low-end tones strongly pitched in the final track Vento Me Traz.

The pair were simply stalwarts of great music until their partnership ended in 1986 when Gui moved to Rio De Janeiro. They remained close friends until Edu passed away in 2008. Now Gui Tavares lives in London and is still making music.

The more I play this album, the more I smile knowing that in the end, the good guys told their story.   

Possibly one of shortest EPs I have heard in while with a total play time of 33 minutes, but filled with positive vibes.
