Binker & Moses get this year's EFG London Jazz Festival off to an explosive start.

As part of the 2016 EFG London Jazz Festival, the powerhouse duo that is Binker & Moses (tenor sax and drums, respectively) played at La Scala (King's Cross) in London on Sunday 13th November to a full house. An iconic venue with a turbulent past, La Scala’s queue of people waiting to get in on the night circled the whole building, literally.

Binker (Golding) and Moses (Boyd), the super talented London boys, were only on stage for half-an-hour supporting for The Bad Plus, but they never stopped to amaze and enrapture the crowd.

Their fantastic dynamism was alive and well on the night; there is something refreshing and at the same time very mature about their playing. Moses, into a trance-like state, made rhythmic pictures with his drums, whilst Binker, not catching a breath, was like a hurricane on his sax.  I have been following this duo for a while now and I can honestly say they get better and better and long may it continue!

Furthermore, the audience of La Scala knew that and appreciated each single note they played during their too short performance. Such a good start to the London Jazz Festival.
