Reimagined standards from US singer Anaïs Reno.

New kid on the block, PX Records has released a new album from one of the hottest new singers to come out of New York. At just 19, Anaïs Reno is maturing into an assured vocalist leading a stunning band when she recorded standards live at London’s Pizza Express.

After winning the 2016 Forte International Competition at Carnegie Hall, Reno’s debut album rode high in the jazz charts and Anaïs Reno At Pizza Express Live in London has been well-received for the musicality and a profound personal interpretation of a selection of tunes we’re all familiar with.

The tracks on Anaïs Reno Live At PizzaExpress Live in London range from Girl from Ipanema and Lover Man to a more unique rendition of Yardbird Suite. One of our favourite jazz clubs, Pizza Express gives Reno the right environment for her voice. She says: “To be in a setting that granted me artistic freedom the way PizzaExpress did, and to work with a band as receptive, flexible and stimulating as that on the record made me so grateful I got to experience it all through unjaded glasses.”

Watch the official video to Lover Man here:

Accompanying  Reno on this live performance are Pete Malinverni (piano), Dave Green (bass) and Josh Morrison (drums). This experienced and dextrous quartet take on these classic tracks with poise and bring a new slant to tunes we may have been familiar with.
